About Us
Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT)-Chinese Academy of Sciences was jointly established by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and the Shenzhen Municipal Government in 2006. A major mission of SIAT is to lead technology revolution in Biological Sciences and Bioindustry by uniting information technology (IT) and biotechnology (BT).

The Center for Synthetic Genomics (CSG) was recently established within Institute of Synthetic Biology (iSynBio), Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), and co-directed by Professors Junbiao Dai and Yizhi Patrick Cai. Prof. Jef Boeke, the founding director of the Institute for Systems Genetics at NYU Langone Medical Center and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as well as the National Academy of Sciences, serves as the honorable director and the Chief Scientist of CSG. The mission of CSG is to ¡°Understand and harness living systems by designing, synthesizing and editting their genomes¡±. Job Openings and Requirements
We are seeking qualified candidates to fill in multiple Principal investigator (PI) positions at Associate/Full Professor level. It is envisioned that each PI will have a team of approximately 20 researchers post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, research assistants) and that PIs will carry out work either individually or cooperatively in the Chair Professor¡¯s research team. 

Applicants should have (i) a Ph.D. or M.D. degree or its equivalent in life science or related disciplines; specific areas of interest include but not limited to nucleic acid chemistry, DNA/protein design and synthesis, development of computational tools for genome analysis and design, genome evolution, genome editing, artificial life, chemical biology, genetic networks and modeling, cell reprogramming, genetic circuit design, mammalian synthetic biology and microbial community engineering; (ii) a competitive track record of research and publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals in one or more related areas; and (iii) ability to apply for external funding support.
