NGS Assay Development Manager
BGI Shenzhen is seeking multiple experienced molecular biologists, biochemists or chemists, to join our Research & Development group at Shenzhen, China. The candidates will be responsible for developing NGS based assays on microfluidic platform. These positions will report in to the R&D-Science group and will lead product development, from conceptualization to commercialization. They will closely interact and collaborate with interdisciplinary technology groups from Engineering, Software, and Manufacturing teams. The successful candidates must be prepared to engage in wet-lab driven research works and have strong analytical skills and oral/written communication skills.
*Job level will commensurate with relevant level of experience*
Essential Duties:
Drive product development to commercialization through experimental design and in-depth data
analysis.
Design, optimize and carry out experiments for NGS panel products on microfluidic system.
Establish microfluidic sample preparation, quality control and assay workflows.
Collaborate with hardware and software engineers for full system development.
Requirements:
PhD or equivalent in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related scientific field.
2+ years of combined industry and post-doctoral work experience, experience in NGS panel assay
development preferred.
Extensive hands-on, state-of-the-art molecular biology experience.
Experience working with different sample types such as FFPE, whole blood or urine is preferred.
Experience working with capillary electrophoresis or microfluidic devices is preferred.
System integration and assay development experience is preferred.
2+ years managing experience for team leading position.
