Micronas ICs are mainly used for the consumer electronics (TV, video and radio equipment) and automotive electronics industries. The company has established a strong market position in promising, high-growth semiconductor applications for these sectors.
Micronas has been quoted on the SWX Swiss Exchange since early 1996, on the Neuer Market in Frankfurt since mid-1999 until December 31, 2002, and on the Prime Standard segment (TecDAX) Frankfurt as from January 1, 2003. In 2004, the Micronas group generated CHF 963 million in net sales. A new R&D center with the name of Micronas Semiconductor R&D (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in 2005. This R&D center will design and develop the state-of-the-art digital consumer and automobile electronics devices to meet the local market demands and provide on-spot technical expertise to customers throughout the region.
